We did all of the above except for the last two, which was only done by Ching and Chyi. =D Pity them especially Ching as there was one day she felt so awful but insist that she was okay and kept walking the mall with us.


How not to feel sick lah, catching grasshopers as they hop hop hop and into their mouth the grasshopers go.. Duh.. they asked one of the road side stall to fry it first la! YEEEE!!!!


Yeah that was a joke, but we strongly suspect this was the stall that made her so sick.. She ordered somtam and saw mushrooms and pointed that too, thinking that the lady will also somtam the mushrooms, you know? In the end the mushrooms wasn't prepared the way we expected, instead was cooked in some green soup which looked & smelled weird. But you know Ching, she tried the thing and regretted the next day.

This is the view walking out of the hotel, the tall building is Baiyoke. There are a few massage places (150THB for foot massage, very cheap, i know!), a 7-Eleven, a few stalls selling not so appetizing food, and as you walk to Platinum mall in the morning (which takes about 15 minutes I guess), there are many shops along the way.

This is Ecotel, a 1 year old hotel with Full Comfort at Budget Prices as it's tagline. Frankly we were quite disappointed at how the hotel looked like compared to photos on the internet, but no doubt we were lucky as it is clean and new, and they do change your bedsheets and towels everyday.

We arrived at midnight on our first night, the receptionists aren't too friendly and they all have a non-negotiable attitude. Why do i say so is because we were going to stay for 5 nights and we asked for a minimal discount on the extra bed (which is THB500 per night) as we are already paying for 2 rooms, but even the manager insisted that the answer was NO.

It may be their hotel's policy, but as a manager, I believe you can be a wee bit flexible, we would be very happy even if she agrees to give us a 100THB discount! But all we got was NONONONONO.

And next to it is Bangkok Palace Hotel, should be very expensive, I donno.

Shopping is pretty cheap when you do it at Bangkok, but if you prefer branded stuffs you can head to Siam Paragon or MBK for medium priced goods. We like Platinum!

It would feel weird to not go to Chatuchak when you're at Bangkok, so we went on Saturday. It was omg-so-very-extremely hot you have to not think of the heat then you'll feel cooler. Sweat rolled down from my arms where i wore a bangle, imagine.

Are they Pomeranians? The dogs, not the girls, haha! Can't remember.. but they are cute hor.. I didn't touch them though.. scared they are dirty mah. The owners just bought them from the market, how clean can they be? Anyway, clever not me hide behind Ching? =D

Bangles!!! My current fave! One thing i realise about Bangkok is the clothes are darn cheap, the shoes can be too, but the accessories are not cheap! Sien...

A ride on Tuk-tuk is like one on a roller coaster, only this you have higher chance of dying. =_=

We didn't really eat like the previous trips this time, just couldn't find real tasty food that makes us go crazy. Li and I miss the noodles at Silom, slurp!! We didn't have time to go there though; in fact we didn't even had enough time to go to Siam area. Only managed to drop by MBK for less than 2 hours and the shops all started to close at 9pm. Why do they close so early? Bangkok is a tourist city, they should open their shops until at least 11pm what!

Which is awesome!

Except that it's so difficult to wash our hair now lor, sien. I love to give my head a good scratch/scrub when I wash my hair, I get super pissed when I go to the salon and the hairwash guy/girl wash my hair as if they haven't been eating!!

So I've always wanted super long hair, it looks sexier.. Although my hair is already long, but I want it to be longer, like long enough to cover my ne-ne when I put my hair infront. Yeah you get the idea..

This is me before getting extensions, no make up, only drew my brows, which was a bit tooo dark, which makes me look like crayon sin chan.

Then, see me after my hair which came with a-weird-smell-and-it-still-smells-abit-now-after-so-many-washes grew longer.

Don't say "there's no difference", I'll kill you!

Mum's the greatest of the greatest! She waited for us patiently for so many hours while we were putting on someone else's hair onto our head! After many many hours she finally decided to have her nails drawn, it's so cheap to get beautify there my goodness.. Mum's not so used to pay for manicures, so she wanted to jaga it properly. And after roughly an hour, she still held her fingers stiff, like how we do when our nails are still wet and we don't want it to get scratched!

This basically sums up our trip to Thailand, the land of smiles where local people like to ask you where you're from, and when you answer them, they'll straight away say "Welcome to Thailand!". I should try saying I'm from Bangkok the next time they ask, see if they process it fast enough to realise before saying that. ;)

Guess what y'all? I'm going to Bangkok, again!

This time, all of us sisters are going with my mum.. 5 girls shopping, can you imagine? We're so excited! We'll be flying this Thursday night, Ching's going to fly from Singapore and meet us there. This time the hotel we'll stay is Ecotel, it's in the city. Hopefully we'll like the place.. and hopefully it's convenient for us to go about..

My second trip to Bangkok

My recent trip to Bangkok was quite good. I did feel the loneliness when Carrot, Chuah and me first arrived the airport – they were two love birds and I’m all alone! Without Yi-Shen who was supposed to go with me... but only remembered that he has more important work commitments!

Our flight to Bangkok was delayed and we arrived at almost 3am Thai time, which is our 4am. The rest of the gang took an earlier flight. We took a taxi for 500B to the hotel I found online – Take A Nap. The pictures on their website looked good, and the rooms were quite cheap, so we thought why not. I booked their 7 pax dorm, intended for 4 of us lah. Manatau, when we arrived the room, Devon wasn't in the room!

After many calls, we found out that she checked into a double room. Went to look for her and after discussing, we decided that since it is already 4am, we will all pack in that room for the night and see how things go the next day. I slept on the floor, the comforter was my bed.

The next day, Dex convinced us to move to the normal hotel that he always stays coz apparently, e-ve-ry-thing is within reach there. A double room costs 1700B... sure la... (Dex is rich mah)..

We had a look at the rooms at The Palazzo and found that the room is quite big, and most importantly, the bed is even bigger than a king sized bed. So we didn’t have to order an extra bed – save 500B per night.

But of course, when four adults sleep on one bed, don’t expect much room to turn here and there la! In fact, you can’t turn around lor.. but for all 4 nights there, we had no trouble sleeping as everyone is drop dead tired after all the shopping aka walking.

There's free breakfast for 2 every morning too, I went for it once only.. Sleep is much more important to me!

There's a 7 Eleven right opposite the hotel too, and they sell nice food like sandwiches, dim sum & sausages that you can grab for a quick bite

First Day
We went to Platinum Mall, which I didn't know about the last time I went with mum and Li. This is an air-conditioned shopping mall that sells wholesale fashion items. There are so many shops, but not too many till you can't finish shopping la.. It is very much more comfortable to shop here as it's not as packed and humid and can't-breathe as Chatuchak.

Here at Platinum Mall, you must at least buy 3 items from a shop then only you get wholesale price. If not, they will tell you a 1-piece price, which is always not (so) worth it.

First day 收获, not too much things bought

When you're at Bangkok, a 300B top is considered expensive! As things are already quite cheap, you don't have to haggle much here coz it is more or less like you are wasting time to shop for more things. Plus they very seldom will lower the price more here; at least that's what I think.

One of my favourite Thai dish - Pad Thai. I always add alot lime juice, chilli powder and vege!

and of course Tom Yam!!!

We had lunch at Carrefour's food court and dinner at Platinum's food court. I like their coconut shake!

By the way, Robinsons, Carrefour, Tesco are all bear our hotel. By near I mean at least 15 minutes walk to the nearest which is Carrefour. You can't walk to Tesco I think... never tried and didn't want to!

There's a midnight market nearby too in an area called Huay Kwang, also where the MRT station is. This midnight market is supposed to be for those who work at night. Like pole dancers, they finish work late mah, so all normal shops are closed by the time they finish work. We went to a salon at 12 midnight on our last night at Bangkok. I washed and curled my hair, the rest did mani and pedi. The shop closes at 5am.

Thai people are so lucky, they can get their nails drawn so nicely and it costs around 200B only!

We went to the famous Suan Lum night bazaar – total disappointment. Nothing much there lorr.. they have a very big area for food and there was a live band. We ate a little and walked around their shops a little and went back.

I think Dex did mention that booze are cheap there, maybe that's why it’s famous, I don’t know.

Second Day
Chatuchak weekend market

I insisted in bringing my luggage bag with rollers with me coz I know I won't regret doing so! Indeed it was a very wise choice. You buy so many things and have to carry them all + walk so much. I've experienced it the last time and I've learnt my lesson.

I finally tried their noodles in pink soup – called yen ta foo if I remember correctly. Taste normal nia..

I didn't buy much at Chatuchak this time, don't know why. I actually didn't buy any clothing for myself here.. so disappointing.. Bought things like clutches, belts, floor mats, and colourful weaved baskets.

We had dinner at Som Bon, a restaurant filled with Japanese. Apparently Japan's PM likes the restaurant and they had pictures of him visiting the restaurant. I won't show the pictures of food we had there, coz there's nothing to shout about really.

After a whole day of walking, this is the DIY foot spa I had in the room - apply Counter Pain on your legs, put your legs up for at least 10 minutes

Third Day
MBK area

Bought 2 pairs of jeans and guess what? They are skinny jeans! Hehe... surprisingly they look good la okay? After MBK we went to Siam Paragon which was totally boring! Things are so expensive there. Bought a Wacoal bra though.. won't tell you the size but Yi-Shen said my boobs aren't that big and the bra don’t fit. What does he know about bras? Hergh! Like very expert lidat...

At night, Devon and me followed Dex to experience Thai Clubbing. We sat at their open aired area coz they wanted to smoke, the place was so normal that our friend fell asleep for so long!! Haha!

Entrance to the club, very tight security. They actually checked on everyone's identification (for us it's our passport) upon entering. And I got the security to smile for me to take his picture, but it's too blurred to show you guys here.

Fourth Day
Pratunam, Platinum Mall again, and Carrefour

Pratunam is opposite Platinum but it has no air-cond. Things here is super-duper cheap! But all cannot try yeah.

We left Pratunam very fast and went to Platinum coz Dex gets impatient very fast so most of the time he goes back first. Or go to more expensive places =D

Dinner at Oishi was so normal. Jap food in Thailand, what do you expect?

Last Day
Before leaving for the airport, we had time to go to Robinsons for lunch and last minute shopping. Lunch at Yum Suup – food was served very fast and taste good too.

We actually planned to go to The Grand Palace geh.. but no one managed to wake up this morning coz we slept at 4 something the night before.

Bangkok Airport

My luggage weighed an extra kilo but luckily I wasn't fined.

So overall, I enjoyed my trip. It would be even more enjoyable if YS, my mum or my sis went together.

Felt that I didn’t buy that many things after unpacking. =D but I spent all my money brought there!

To Bangkok we go!

These were all over the town! Pink cabs. Interesting colour huh, instead of dull red cabs we've got here.

It was a trip to Bangkok for my Mum, Cher Li and me. I've been to the city once, way back when I was still very young. Too young to remember anything except it was quite cooling and I wore the same jacket as my cousin, a red jacket.

Needless to say, we were all very excited over the trip! We promised ourselves to SHOP TILL WE DROP! And stand up to continue shop, and DROP another time!

Day 1

From Kota Bharu, my Dad dropped us at Golok, we then took a van to Narathiwat Airport. The van was meant to be for at most 11 passengers, but the driver ate money and went around Golok fetching another few people! He actually asked us to masuk sikit to fit them all in! Siao!

Narathiwat Airport was pretty simple, the drinks we had there was rather cheap considering it is drinks you drink in an Airport, you know? No photos to show since nothing seemed interesting.

The first meal we had after checking in to the Hotel was McDonald's in Thailand. There are pork burgers which we don't get back home mah, so have to try them out lah.

The burger on promotion then, it is something like Mos burger's rice burger, but Mos burger taste a lot better. This was disappointing.


Yam pie, not good either. Nothing was good eh!

We proceeded to take a rest in the hotel room, then went to have a stroll at the street in front of the hotel. We stayed at Silom very near to Patpong night market, which is the infamous night life area. It was pretty much like our Petaling Street, with all the fake stuff, but very expensive. Mum said their customers are the angmohs, not us because they didn't seem interested to tend to us also. There were so many pubs and clubs at the street, we even saw old saggy bums of 2 quite old ladies! They were standing on the table top, practicing for their pole dance later on.

On another side of the streets, there were stalls selling all sorts of things. The shoes and heels were SO cheap! You can definitely find a pair of nice kitten heels at only 100bahts! Isn't that like so very cheap? Only that I have SO big feet, and Thai girls generally have small nice feet... but I did get to buy a few pairs la by the end of our trip. =D

Day 2

MBK Shopping Mall. The mall was rather crowded, but not till the extend of uncomfortable. Not too many things to buy lah, coz all were quite pricey.




Ain't these pretty? I've actually seen them before lah, at Golok.. but it's still nice to look at again.

Yeah it was Christmas season, and I know how outdated my post is...

Believe me when I say the food at Bangkok is superb! Especially if you love spicy food, you can't not love Thai food! I'm salivating now lor... We really ate and ate and ate.. Li and I had 4 bowls (at different places) of Tom Yam this day, we just love it. Too bad Yi-Shen wasn't there with us, he loves to eat too, but he can't really take spicy food.

Day 3


Gardenia at Thailand eh. So you can see how powerful corporate identities are, you don't read Thai, but you know it is Gardenia!

We went to Central today, they had a very nice food court, it didn't look like a food court, looked more like an expensive restaurant.

I know how to pronounce this the Thai way. It doesn't go Vi-ta-milk, it goes Wi-ta-miu, hahah!

We went back to MBK again, Li craved for the Tomyam we had the day before. But it was sold out when we arrived, can you imagine how good the business was! Even the locals love it! Today, we tried Pad Thai (Thai fried kuey teow) at 3 different places.

I bought many pairs of earrings but felt I should have bought more when we were back at the hotel. All 3 of us went for a foot massage after a long day of walking. We are all set for a shopping war tomorrow at Jatujak!!!

Day 4

There isn't many pictures to show here, reason being:

1. Concentration on shopping for:
i. ourselves
ii. gifts for our loved ones (including friends ok?)

2. I didn't have make-up on because I predicted that it will be so damn hot and stuffy and sticky, and I was right. So my advice to you girls when you go to Jatujak is, wear as comfortable as possible, and no make-up because there won't be anyone who'll look at you anyway.

LOOK! I felt so satisfied! Across a king sized bed okay?

The place was so huge, we had to go back the next day. Willingly lah... It is such a satisfaction to see great things, and being able to buy it at a good price you know? Yi-Shen won't understand this.

Li insisted to have an oil massage which she enjoyed tremendously whereas I didn't like it. It was so painful lah.. I like Yi-Shen's massage better! hhaha, say this so that I get more of it!

We had dinner at a famous place named Anna's. It was a cosy bungalow-restaurant with friendly staffs. We were eating and talking away when suddenly we heard a few men singing a Happy Birthday song. We looked around and saw them coming towards us, it was Li's birthday! Or, was it? It wasn't lah!! but we don't know what made them think it was! So we just played along and clapped after the song. To think of it, it was so funny coz Li even blew the candles. Lucky she didn't make a wish! If not, it will be a super funny thing for a long long time for us.

Day 5

I guess overall we only managed to cover about 60% of Jatujak. We didn't have the strength to finish it all so we went back to the hotel to put our things and rest. At first we wanted to eat at Tony Roma's for dinner, but decided to have authentic Thai food in the end.





Whenever we eat something, Li and I will definitely add A LOT of chilli flakes in our food, we will end up having bengkak lips and sweaty heads, but we enjoyed every moment of it!



I would love to stay on for the food, but no more shopping for a while. Wait for me, Bangkok!
