Mona Lisa's smile

I visited Eiffel tower and the louvre.. So after so many years of looking at the one in my grandparents' house, I've now seen the real painting of Mona lisa.

I actually think they're quite the same thing..

Which is scarier?

I experienced earthquake in Japan when I was doing my NRT-LA. It was 7 something in the morning, I was sleeping and suddenly my bed shook so hard that I got a fright thinking that a ghost was shaking my bed!

Then I stood up and calmed down, and I told myself that it should be an earthquake. Luckily after about 6 to 7 seconds it stopped but I could still hear the sound of things shaking. I went back to sleep.

Male, Maldives

I was called up to Male, replacing my 3 days pattern with 4! How great is that! There's really only chilling to do there and it was definitely a vacation.

I went snorkeling for a very short while the day after we arrived, it was rather cloudy so there wasn't much to see. Swam a little in the pool and finished carving one of my stamps.

We went for a sunset tour the next day and it was awesome! There were dolphins and they really are adorable creatures! One of them did a flip for us, twice!

It was really an experience, sipping wine on the cruiser, with the wind and the view. life's good to be wealthy!

But I think the ever so popular Male is pretty much like the other islands I've been to. Nice beach, breath-taking blue sea, friendly staff, it's all the same, right?

Mykonos, Greece

Right after touch down in Athens, I joined 4 other crew and went online to search for tickets and accommodation to Mykonos, a beautiful island of Greece.

In the end, instead of taking the 4 hour ferry, we got to the airport to buy the half an hour plane ride which costs euro 250 both ways. It's my first time going on such an impromptu trip where nothing has been booked or arranged!

All the buildings in Mykonos are white by law, their windows and doors are blue, like their flag. It was sunny but very windy, nice weather I'd say!

We had one of our dinners at a Greek restaurant, the locals are so different from our people, they're happy and fun. They were dancing to the band all night long and pulled us along!

Mykonos is a nice place to relax, a nice place to be with my loved ones.

I still cry

It has been 6 months, and I still cry..

This is the job I wanted, the one I think is perfect coz I don't have to wake up early every weekday, the one that has only 2 off days weekly. It is the job that's not so boring, the job that pays better, the job that i want.

Now I've got it, I've got the job. I even have 2 of my sisters with me, but the only thing, the big thing, missing, is my husband.

I cry every time we say goodbye. I sometimes also cry through the phone before flights. Why? This is what you wanted!

Do I want to end this? What will I be? I don't, I want to fly and come home to you..

First annual leave

In 2 days' time, our whole family plus my grandma will be going to Taipei for my dad's birthday! It'll be my first annual leave taken and I'm very sure I'll feel as lousy as ever to come back to singapore after the break!

I'm sure we'll enjoy our trip a lot! With lots of talking and eating! Yi-Shen 没有去!

To my sisters

It is such a happy thing to be together, all of us.

We have so much fun! Although once together long, someone somehow tends to lose their temper.

Let's work on this, so we'll enjoy each others company more than ever!

Love,
Che

Moscow, Russia

I was telling chyi the house is back to normal, everyone has left and it feels sad! i really wanted to cry! i know i'll be going back to pj right after i come back from this 9 day pattern moscow-houston, but i still feel sad! maybe it's because this is the first time i'll be away for more than 4 days..

it's snowing in moscow, and it's my first time seeing snow! snowflakes are not as tiny as i imagined, you can see the shapes clearly, and they are rather big!

Homesick

when i first stepped into the aircraft, i told myself to suck it up and just work because i was feeling weepy.. i felt that the leading wasn't very nice.. but it's not quite true.. i was just feeling crapy.

the bus ride to the hotel took 2 hours! It's my first time seeing snow! I CAN see snow flakes flying down, stopping on my nose!

But it's really boring here in moscow! there's no internet connection in the room, there's nothing interesting to watch on tv.. sigh! the crew did mention about going out to the red square, but my clothing aren't warm enough for snow! =(

Kiwi

Location: Christchurch

Arrived this morning, wiped away my red lipstick, changed and we hopped on to their yellow bus to a japanese place for lunch. You can imagine how zombie we felt after 12 hours of work and we still managed to go to their Pak'nSave for some groceries shopping..

Bought a bottle of pancake (powder) mix to try with me sisters! Maybe I'm suaku, or maybe normally it's in a box so I'm drawn to this bottled one. Just add water into the bottle, shake and pour!

A thrilling night

Li's in town, and we joined Ching to the airport and had dinner there. After dinner, we walked around and did some groceries shopping, had dessert at Coffee Bean..

On our way bk home, I realized that I didn't bring house keys out! I began to panic as all my sisters are at work (which means they're not in Sg!!) and I don't remember seeing the other girls at home! I smsed them but they didn't reply so I guess they're overseas too!

We got back, I prayed hard that the last person who went out didn't double lock our door and we tried opening it.. Very luckily, we managed to let ourselves in! I couldn't imagine what would happen if we're still locked out now!

Well.. But guess what? We left all our groceries on the bus!!!

Amsterdam; Europe virgin

Can you imagine my phone's battery went flat while I was sleeping and the alarm did not go off when I'm supposed to go for a tour?! Thank god it's not a working day!! The concierge called me to say that the bus is here to pick us up, and I asked him what time is it.. I took 15 minutes to get ready and lucky too that I had fake eyelashes done before coming to Amsterdam!

The tour was nice because all the houses here are very nice, all houses have their own unique touch. Look into their houses and you'll see flowers and dining tables by the window, it's like houses in the movies and catalogues! Apparently the house owners here are very competitive and they'd all have different doors and curtains; true enough, I see different doors in a row!

Are all countries in Europe like this? I'm certainly curious and look forward to find out!

Getting ready

I timed myself getting ready the other day.. took 25 minutes to bathe, 5 to prep face, 23 to do my make up, 22 for styling my hair, and another 15 to dress up plus some last minute touches.

A minimum of 1.5 hours to get ready, if nothing out of the norm like not having a good make up or hair day! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

ATDO with no company

Pssst.. The title is to annoy Li coz she hates it when we use all these airline jargons!! Heee.. Anyway Li, ATDO means our off day laa k?

Chyi got back from Tokyo, Ching will be back from London tonight, here I am, figuring out something meaningful to do.. Tried making an appointment with the dentist but they are fully booked today. I really have the urge to whiten my teeth, they are yellow! I'll feel much prettier with whiter teeth!

Off days are certainly better when you have company!BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Decisions

Should I, or rather will I be able to start blogging again? I want to, but knowing me.. I'm a lazy bum! I asked ching if I can just translate her blog posts into English for my blog? Smoke is in the air

While I was sitting in a mamak, waiting for Yi-Shen to come fetch me, I started looking around because my glass of Teh-O-Ais kurang manis was still too manis for my liking.

A very smelly odour 一阵阵的飘过来.. Guess what? It's the smell of the ever so polite cigarettes butts! They are smellier than second hand smoke, but I'm not saying that second hand smoke are nicer to smell ok?

Bugger... I don't like dirtying my hands to move it to the other tables.. and this particular one looks especially filthy! Second hand smoke is killing us!!!
It's everywhere, like I said in my previous post.... which reminds me of a fugly man today at the coffee shop! He was sitting behind me, like 5cm away, and suddenly a big puff of smoke were blewn to me (coz the wind was towards our direction)!!!!!! My goodness, how can he do that? Sit outside cannot meh? Must he sit so inside of the shop and kill us all??! Stupid assss.....

Right?

Car accident

BANG!

It was out of my control, I wanted it to stop but it didn't. It continued sliding, and banged like a bumper car.

Yeah, it was drizzling last night, I was driving Yi-Shen's car, he was sitting on the passenger's seat, Li was sitting at the back and we were heading home after dinner. I made a turn and lost concentration on the cars in front as I was looking at the rear view mirror; in a split of a second, it was too late to realize that the cars in front all braked.

I stepped on the braked but the car didn't stop at all, the road was too slippery. I had time to recall Yi-Shen talking about how the brake locks the car tyres when there's a sudden hard step on the brake, so I released and stepped on the brakes again, but sadly that didn't work too. Maybe it doesn't apply on straight roads.

So all of us watched me bang into the car in front, surprisingly, all was calm too. There was no shout let out by Li, no instructions or terperanjat-ness from Yi-Shen. Nothing special came out of me as well, but I felt my legs a bit soft when I walked out of the car lah.

In the end, the car that kena bang said it's ok (after like 10 minutes of inspecting his bumper, which didn't even had a scratch), so Yi-Shen took over and drove back.

This is the second time I damaged his front bumper after he fixed it and repainted it. =( The first time was when I was alone and reversed out of a parking space and got a scratched (a bad one) from the pillar.

This time, I got his car a crack, and the whole bumper dropped down a little. Sorry!

I hate smokers!

Why is it that smokers are generally selfish?

From the bottom of my heart, I hate (almost all of) them.

Have you walked in corridors, along the road, crossing the streets and smell smoke from the person in front of you who is smoking while walking? Have you being eating your lunch and smell smoke from the person in front of you who is smoking after his/her satisfying meal? They (the smokers) say, I quote: “饭后一支烟,快乐似神仙”; we say “要死你去死,我可不想死”!

Why? Why? Why can’t they be a little more considerate and smoke only at smoking rooms? If you can't find one, smoke somewhere behind the bushes where less people walk pass! Non smokers do not smoke because we don't want to, so what makes them think that we would want to inhale their second hand smoke?

I know it is a free world, but we being non smokers also have the right to tell you in your face that we do not enjoy smelling the nasty smell; so do not get offended when we do so, because you did not care if we are being offended while you huff and puff.

Every since I joined this current company, coughing is my second name.

Being in an office where 2 smoking managers (before this there were 6, go figure!) kill our lives slowly every day definitely makes me hate smokers more. Imagine the smell lah, we are in an air conditioned room, come on lah!

The recent cough I had was so terrible that I almost had asthma, I'm not coughing already but I'll start coughing whenever I attempt to laugh out loud (which is what I always do). Am I being deprived of laughing out loud, I asked Yi-Shen. I'm afraid coz this is the first time I cough so badly and it is also the first time I experience this laughing and cough thing.

To conclude, I just want to say that they really should not smoke in the office, be it in their room or whatever. Show some consideration!
