Which is scarier?
Then I stood up and calmed down, and I told myself that it should be an earthquake. Luckily after about 6 to 7 seconds it stopped but I could still hear the sound of things shaking. I went back to sleep.

Male, Maldives
I went snorkeling for a very short while the day after we arrived, it was rather cloudy so there wasn't much to see. Swam a little in the pool and finished carving one of my stamps.
We went for a sunset tour the next day and it was awesome! There were dolphins and they really are adorable creatures! One of them did a flip for us, twice!
It was really an experience, sipping wine on the cruiser, with the wind and the view. life's good to be wealthy!
But I think the ever so popular Male is pretty much like the other islands I've been to. Nice beach, breath-taking blue sea, friendly staff, it's all the same, right?

Mykonos, Greece
In the end, instead of taking the 4 hour ferry, we got to the airport to buy the half an hour plane ride which costs euro 250 both ways. It's my first time going on such an impromptu trip where nothing has been booked or arranged!
All the buildings in Mykonos are white by law, their windows and doors are blue, like their flag. It was sunny but very windy, nice weather I'd say!
We had one of our dinners at a Greek restaurant, the locals are so different from our people, they're happy and fun. They were dancing to the band all night long and pulled us along!
Mykonos is a nice place to relax, a nice place to be with my loved ones.

Homesick
the bus ride to the hotel took 2 hours! It's my first time seeing snow! I CAN see snow flakes flying down, stopping on my nose!
But it's really boring here in moscow! there's no internet connection in the room, there's nothing interesting to watch on tv.. sigh! the crew did mention about going out to the red square, but my clothing aren't warm enough for snow! =(

Kiwi
Arrived this morning, wiped away my red lipstick, changed and we hopped on to their yellow bus to a japanese place for lunch. You can imagine how zombie we felt after 12 hours of work and we still managed to go to their Pak'nSave for some groceries shopping..
Bought a bottle of pancake (powder) mix to try with me sisters! Maybe I'm suaku, or maybe normally it's in a box so I'm drawn to this bottled one. Just add water into the bottle, shake and pour!

Amsterdam; Europe virgin
The tour was nice because all the houses here are very nice, all houses have their own unique touch. Look into their houses and you'll see flowers and dining tables by the window, it's like houses in the movies and catalogues! Apparently the house owners here are very competitive and they'd all have different doors and curtains; true enough, I see different doors in a row!
Are all countries in Europe like this? I'm certainly curious and look forward to find out!

The moon
When we were about to land into Schiphol airport in Amsterdam. It was big and round, brightly lit and it stood right above the gray clouds.

work sucks
Well.. I didn't win the Nuffnang game, but it's ok.. I'm sure the dinner wasn't that great *sourgrapes* Hehe.. I'll try their other contests, keep trying and trying and I'll surely win one day!
I've been feeling rather lost and depressed lately.. lost the directions of my life, depressed for feeling lost. I no longer feel motivated to work already. Over and over again, the company has made empty promises to us. They said we should wait till June when we did not receive any yearly bonus or increment beginning of this year. They said they're working on some incentive plan for us after that. Now come July, what other excuses will they give?
I see more and more colleagues leave the company. Many people ask why don't we leave too? What's there to hold on to when a company doesn't appreciate their staffs? I do not have an answer to them. Maybe deep down I do believe what the company promise, maybe I do feel that there's a future here, or maybe I am waiting to see them give us something in return of expecting us to be 110% committed to our company!
We are always told to not calculate with the company and that staying back as often as possible shows that you are very committed. I don't think so! I do not stay back do not mean that I am not committed to my job. They who stay back every day may mean they are either one: overload or two: not productive.
Ha Ha!
Sien.. I know, if you expect a higher pay, then you should expect to work even more, your work responsibility will be higher. But this is my blog, so I should be able to say what I think. It should be ok that I say I expect lots of money and I don't want to work extra hard! I want to be rich when I wake up in the morning and go shopping, go spa, go manicure, go learn what I am interested in. and most importantly, NOT GO TO WORK!
Although, this is reality, and reality means you gotta work to get paid. You gotta get paid to go shopping. And when you work, you might feel it's a waste of money to go for spas and manicures, so you do them yourselves. And because you earn peanuts, DIY manicures are what you can only afford! And when you do everything yourself, you won't have time to do other things that you are interested in, like blog. So when you don't have the time to blog, you miss the opportunity to earn extra cash from what your blog can actually do for you! Example Nuffnang. So all of these actually go round and round, it's a cycle! So at the end of the day, the chances of being rich (aside from getting promoted and getting your yearly increment, which let's not talk about again) is so darn difficult!
Damn, you tell me how not to feel 烦la being in my shoes now!

New things!
I've got myself a 'new hairstyle'! Marcus (Ching's boyfriend) straightened my fringe and cut it short. I asked him to help me trim my ends, so I sat there and he started to trim, trim, trim. Slowly, he passed me a lil bunch of my hair from the left, then another from the right, and the back, and the middle, gosh! I ended up having a totally different hairstyle! I freaked out a lil at first, but everyone says I look much younger now...
Another new thing I've got is a new job 2 months back, at MXM International; it's a sister company of my previous company. The people in this new company are younger and we don't have to wear office attire to work, plus, every Friday is a Dress Code day. Dress Code day is where a theme is pre-selected and then everyone will have to work on their creativeness and dress up. They who do not dress up accordingly will be fined a fee of RM5, and there is a winner for every theme, he gets the fines plus RM50. Kinda interesting...
These pictures will show you my new look, taken during Chinese New Year at my office when the Lion Dance came to bring us luck! Heehe

These photos are taken on an event of my company at Shangri-la Hotel. The theme on that night was Red and Gold. Old hairstyle.
So do you all agree that I look younger now? =D This weekend, Ching and I will be going to A Cut Above to have our hair done, I can't decide on what to do, suggestions?Saturday, October 21, 2006
Carnevale Italiano
Recently at the restaurant, we had a one month event called Carnevale Italiano. We had an Italian guest chef from Gold Coast for the month and the restaurant was decorated more Italian-ly. Hah!
We had a gala dinner one night where service crew forfeited their normal uniforms and wore white shirts with an Italian sash as their belts, the main hostess wore an Italian costume, and there was a live band too!
I was also the hostess that night, but did not manage to take any photos of myself. Work mah...

Easter Day
I know Easter has long passed, I will still blog about my Easter here. Easter was my first big function held in Marco's Pizza, it was a success although the amount of kids participated was far lesser than expected.
We had to search for little baskets to put our Easter eggs into as centerpieces, bigger baskets for egg hunting, did the table tent cards design, Easter banner, we tried out the decoration of the eggs, searched for appropriate Easter story and etc.
Me decorating the eggs. Ching and Chyi helped me until late at night. Obviously, my cheeks are photoshopped already.. you know lah, worked until late at night sure won't make a girl look good... so had to add some colour to my face!
Places we hide the eggs.
This was the egg decorating session. I didn't expect the 2 year old boys would participate too! And they managed to keep the egg in one piece.
We had egg hunting and storytelling too. It was certainly an enjoyable event!
Time to take a group photo!
1st try
2nd try
Yippie!
work place
I recently saw an email about the work place of Google. I don't know how true the email is, but it certainly looks good! To decorate and personalize your desk makes you want to wake up in the morning and go to work more!
Then, looking at my desk, I see some personalization as well, although it can't be compared to what Google workers have, it is at least better than other people's desks.
This is my desk.
My monitor, previously there were 3 big hello kitties on my monitor, but I took 2 down and threw them away coz they were already crumpled after shifting office.
My feng shui items; to keep me happy and wealthy.
The rooster is to counter office politics. As you can see, there is already one on top of my monitor. I need 2, because I really don't want to be the victim of office politickings.
I just stick a lot of hello kitty stickers on my keyboard. It is not that I love hello kitty ok, it is because so happen I have the stickers, so to make me happier working, I made my keyboard happier and lifelier. The stickers are obviously not enough. I will work on it.
Happy working!!
p/s: if you'd like to receive the Google work place email, let me know and give me your email add, I'll send it to you.

What have I been up to lately?
Aye aye Capt'!
Lately, I have been very busy with an upcoming birthday party. The theme of the party is Pirates this time, and it's my boss' birthday.
Let me tell you how busy I am, okay?
Last month, I organized 2 themed parties in a row for their children, Fairies & Wizards for the daughter, and Pirates for the son.
The decorations...

Every gal got a pair of fairy wings when they arrived, and wizard hats for the boys.
too bad I was too busy and didn't manage to take a picture of the boys with their wizard hats. Two boys even came with their own hat and robe, which made them look like Harry Potter!
We had a Fairy's Nail Art Station for the fairies, of course.

Make-up!
Alexander is super cute, I just love him! Every girl will fall in love with him!

"I'm not naughty, I'm funny!" Can you believe that? I heard him telling one uncle at the party.

The cake was awesome! Ask me if you want the contacts of this lady who baked the cake, she bakes wonderful cakes!

Look! It even had something to surprise the kids! There were lotsa jelly beans underneath the castle roof!

Pinata! I was kinda excited over this because it was my first pinata… I mean, it wasn't for me, but it was a party I organized!

Sadly, no one got to break the pinata, it was a lousy pinata! So in the end, I tored the pinata into half! Although that shouldn't be the way, every kid was too busy with the goodies fallen down and couldn't be bothered that they weren't the one who broke the damned pinata!
The birthday girl and her giant Birthday card.
p/s: It took ages for me to upload the pictures! I'm feeling KINDA frustrated over it! I can only upload one picture at a time and it's irritating!!!
BIG SIGH.....
Now, the Pirate Birthday Bash.
This time, we had a pirate's tattoo station. This is a must because everyone knows that all pirates needs tattoos, right? hehe..

Not only the kids wanted tattoos, the mums chose the large ones! *roll eyes*

I had swords hanging on the ceiling, and pirate flags all around.

Swords made of balloons, which I think looks good. We actually had a pinata as well, but no pictures...... sorrrrrrwie~
Tell me this cake didn't impress you.

Look at him!

The pirates.

The cute one.
Again, you all must excuse me if the pictures aren't too interesting as it sounds. It is solely because I had so many things to do I totally didn't have the time to take nice pictures. Please have better imagination! =D Thanks.
