Carnevale Italiano

Recently at the restaurant, we had a one month event called Carnevale Italiano. We had an Italian guest chef from Gold Coast for the month and the restaurant was decorated more Italian-ly. Hah!



We had a gala dinner one night where service crew forfeited their normal uniforms and wore white shirts with an Italian sash as their belts, the main hostess wore an Italian costume, and there was a live band too!











I was also the hostess that night, but did not manage to take any photos of myself. Work mah...

a night out at The Curve

The Curve is a very nice place, i really like it there.







you get the relaxing and calm feeling when you're there.



the band is always there performing during weekends, and they always have programs and surprises for customers. i really like live bands.

i was there with yi-shen and my friends; su, julian, wai mun and brendan for a night out the other day. we had dinner at Sakae Sushi, my first time there.





the food was very normal. the sushi's lost to what Sushi King had. the unique thing they provide was the order-by-yourself-without-the-hassle-of-calling-for-the-waiter service. you browse through the lcd screen and pick what you want from there.

there are pictures and descriptions for every item on the menu. but i got drowsy after a while because the wire for the mouse was very short, the lcd screen is at your side and it was much higher than your head level, so you'd have to look high up, stretch your arm and strain your eyes at looking at the small words. you'd feel sick too!



this particular dish looked so tempting on screen, but disappointed all of us when it arrived.

OH YEAH, I OFFICIALLY AM BLIND! I MEAN, NEED GLASSES. hate it, so uncomfortable wearing glasses!

after dinner, we wanted to catch a movie but couldn't get nice seats coz it was a saturday night. we ended up at paddington's house of pancakes.

my mum is coming and i am happy

my mum and cher li is coming this friday for the weekend! yay! ginger won't be coming though... AND we're having a bbq party that night! you know how excited i get over parties, especially when i am the one organizing them!

actually it is a birthday party for my aunt, ching and chyi. since their birthdays are all in october, and since we always celebrate birthdays, so this time around, instead of celebrating it at some expensive-and-not-nice-food restaurant, i suggested a poolside bbq party!

i spent today (my off day) preparing the jellies and i'm gonna get the trifle done tonight. my mum's gonna arrive on friday morning, and we will go to the market and buy the things needed for the night. chyi's gonna marinate the chicken and lamb, mum's gonna make her delicious tuna sandwich, aunt's gonna cook curry chicken and potato salad.

i'm thinking of barbequeing stuffed mushrooms; should be good... i don't know. the cake's gonna be awesome! or so i think... because they are cupcakes!! i've made orders and will collect them tomorrow.

you guys be patient and i'll blog about the party after my mum goes back!

these are hanging on my phone at the moment. the crystal is very nice! it is a gift from my lady boss, Sylvia. "thanks for the parties you did", she said to me! i am so happy!



Nice? i sendiri lekat wan ok? my phone's keypad is actually so conked already, but because of these bling-bligns, i don't want to change my phone eventhough yi-shen wants to buy me one... coz i really like my phone now!

as you all know, i'm obsessed with cupcakes lately...

i recently bought a bottle of hand cream, and found out that the tip of the cream is edgy. what do i mean, you ask.

the cream comes out with patterns because of the edges.

so really wanting to go for cupcake decorating classes, this came to my mind...

Easter Day

I know Easter has long passed, I will still blog about my Easter here. Easter was my first big function held in Marco's Pizza, it was a success although the amount of kids participated was far lesser than expected.

We had to search for little baskets to put our Easter eggs into as centerpieces, bigger baskets for egg hunting, did the table tent cards design, Easter banner, we tried out the decoration of the eggs, searched for appropriate Easter story and etc.

Me decorating the eggs. Ching and Chyi helped me until late at night. Obviously, my cheeks are photoshopped already.. you know lah, worked until late at night sure won't make a girl look good... so had to add some colour to my face!

This was the egg decorating session. I didn't expect the 2 year old boys would participate too! And they managed to keep the egg in one piece.





We had egg hunting and storytelling too. It was certainly an enjoyable event!

work place

I recently saw an email about the work place of Google. I don't know how true the email is, but it certainly looks good! To decorate and personalize your desk makes you want to wake up in the morning and go to work more!

Then, looking at my desk, I see some personalization as well, although it can't be compared to what Google workers have, it is at least better than other people's desks.

This is my desk.

My monitor, previously there were 3 big hello kitties on my monitor, but I took 2 down and threw them away coz they were already crumpled after shifting office.



My feng shui items; to keep me happy and wealthy.



The rooster is to counter office politics. As you can see, there is already one on top of my monitor. I need 2, because I really don't want to be the victim of office politickings.



I just stick a lot of hello kitty stickers on my keyboard. It is not that I love hello kitty ok, it is because so happen I have the stickers, so to make me happier working, I made my keyboard happier and lifelier. The stickers are obviously not enough. I will work on it.

back to kb

after such a long time, i finally got the chance to go back to kb for a break. from the stress of my working place, i really needed this trip. i went back for 4 days and ended up didn't want to come back. felt so sad when i thought of what i have to face everyday and really needed the strength to do so... =(

we had nasi ulam for lunch one day.



this is budu, a must with nasi ulam. you must squeeze plenty of lime in it, and chilli padis too.







if you guys do want to visit kelantan, must go and try nasi ulam yeah!

beng chuan has gone to UK for his degree. it will be a year later that i'll see him again. i could see how sad his mum was at the airport when he bid goodbye to them, made me want to cry myself. i really can't stand these kinda moments... beng chuan and i took the same flight back to kl, yi-shen fetched him back to his sis place and we said bye there. it wasn't a proper goodbye though... i didn't go to the airport with him the next day coz i had to work.

i hope everyone will grow and mature in one years' time...
